Skye Haiku

by Andrew Clarke

Neist Point

Two cormorants skim
Dark stones clipping rainy sea;
Green swell sprays white thought

Terminal beauty
End of other worlds and lives;
The lonliest place

Skye
Climbing on sea cliffs at Destitution Point, Neist

Spantastic, Flodigarry

gear-scattered clifftop
Too idle to climb again
We watch the sea work

Weather watching

The lochan refelcts
Nothing but the sky's grey thoughts
Of impending rain

I scan the dark peak
And muse on mortality
The drizzle blows in

Skye
Loch Coruisk through mist

Portree Harbour Gulls

The whirlwind descends
Armed with talons, beaks and wings
The whirlwind departs
And with it our chips
